China is the largest country in the world. It has a population of 1.3 billion. By July 2012 China had a population of about 1, 343, 239, 923. China's population increases from 1.34 billion to around 1.35 billion. China has a one-child policy to keep this population from rising any higher.

You would expect that the world’s largest country would also have the world’s
largest city – and you would be right. Shanghai is the world's largest city. It's home to 18 million people. It has 4 million people more than Istanbul, Turkey, the world's second largest city. Beijing, the capital of China, is home to 12 million people. It's the world's fifth largest city. China has three other cities with populations over 10 million. Tianjin and Guangzhou (both11.1 million) are the world's 8th and 9th populous city. Shenzhen (10.3 million) is the world's twelfth largest.

Largest Country in the World -
With a population of over 1.3 billion, China still remains the largest country in the world. It's quikly being caught up by its neighbour, India. However, India has a current population od 1.2 billion.

In China the population movement have been eased. Urban proportion may be understated for definitional reasons. By the end of 2011, the mainland of the People's Republic of China had a total urban population of 691 million of the total population, rising from 26% in 1990. In the long term, China faces increasing urbanization; according to predictions, nearly 70% of the population will live in urban areas by 2035.
